The 2025 Porvoo Jazz Clubs will start on the last day of January with the power of young blood!
Jimi Ahlroos is a saxophonist and composer from Oulu who performs actively with his own ensembles and can be heard e.g. In the ranks of Peela and the Unitet band. In addition to the modern jazz tone, Ahlroos' music has a strong presence of blues and rock music echoes. Ahlroos debuted as a band leader and composer with the Jimi Ahlroos Trio EP, which was released by Jazzaggression Records in the fall of 2024. Soon after its release, the album's material was played by e.g. On Worldwide FM in Gilles Peterson's radio program, Radio Helsinki, and Yle's jazz club program.
