Roope Kantonen has been awarded Jazz Musician of the Year 2022 by the Jazz Musicians Association jazz drummer, composer and teacher. He has completed his master's degree in jazz music in Amsterdam from the conservatory. Kantonen, who moved from Holland to Finland in 2021, has called with twelve albums and gigged with several different ensembles not only in Finland, but also elsewhere in Europe. Kantonen is a familiar sight in Helsinki's jazz scene, e.g. hosted by Sörkan about Ruusu's jazz jams.

Roope Kantonen 3 presents a new sound in Finnish with their debut album Introducing on the jazz field. The work takes the listener to an original world where freedom, sensitivity, subtlety and strong dynamic interplay.
