The musical film Cherbourg Umbrellas is set in the small French town of Cherbourg, where 17-year-old Geneviève (Catherine Deneuve) is experiencing her first love. Geneviève is secretly dating 20-year-old Guy (Nino Castelnuovo), a man her mother (Anne Vernon) has never met.
